Claudia - Queensland Police Officer

When I started with A Healthy Shift, I was at a really low point in my life. I had been moved rurally for work, away from everything I knew, and I was finding the transition much harder than I expected. The work environment and the changes around me had taken a real toll, and I had reached a point where I was questioning whether I even wanted to continue in the career I had worked so hard to achieve.

I was ready to walk away from the job I had always wanted.

I knew something needed to change, but I also knew that I couldn’t necessarily change everything happening around me. What I could change was how I looked after myself and how I responded to what I was going through. That was a big part of what led me to A Healthy Shift.
Going into coaching, I thought I was signing up to improve my health and fitness. What I didn’t realise was how much the process would impact other areas of my life too.

The coaching gave me structure, accountability and, most importantly, someone who genuinely believed in me when I was struggling to believe in myself. I never felt judged for where I was starting from. Instead, I felt supported to take small steps and build from there.

One of my biggest takeaways was learning that I didn’t need to be perfect to make progress. I learnt how important consistency is, how to make better choices without feeling like I was constantly restricting myself, and that one bad day doesn’t mean you’ve failed.

But probably the biggest change has been my mindset.

When I started, I was at a point where I was ready to give up on a career I had always wanted. Now, I feel like I have found myself again. I have more confidence, more belief in what I’m capable of and a much better relationship with my health and wellbeing.

And I can see that change in so many other parts of my life now. Since moving to Winton, I’ve started putting myself out there and creating a life here rather than simply existing here. I’ve started getting involved in the community creating the Winton Run Club, helped organise community events and many other things.
Things I probably wouldn’t have had the confidence, motivation or energy to do when I was at my lowest.

A Healthy Shift didn’t change my circumstances. It helped change the way I approached them. It gave me the confidence to stop waiting for things around me to change and start creating a life that I actually wanted to live.

Looking back, I’m really grateful for Roger and that I made the decision to start coaching when I did. It came at a time when I needed it most, and the impact has gone far beyond just my physical health. It helped me find my confidence again, reconnect with myself and realise that even in a completely new place, I could build a life that I’m genuinely proud of”

Thank you for everything Roger.

I don’t think words can truly express how grateful I am for what you have taught me! But know I do truly appreciate it.

Thankyou
