Rhiannon - 24/7 Shift worker

"If I went back in time by 7 years and started my shift working career at ESTA again, I wouldn’t listen to the person who said to me ‘just sleep when you’re tired’ or to others who said I should stay out late all night before a night shift, then you’re ready for nights.

I absolutely really love my job and I wouldn’t change anything at all, I just wish I actually started off with the knowledge I have now. Now that I have spent 3 months with Roger.

I actually didn’t know how much of a mess I was in, I just thought it was impossible to lose weight but I didn’t know why.

I didn’t know it but I was literally just surviving through shift work.

I was looking into getting gastric sleeve surgery, I was broken and felt I had no other options.  I spoke to Rog about this 3 years ago. He wasn’t a fan and told me why, but at that point, I was feeling out of options, something in me listened to him, he had so much passion. I then lost 30kgs on my own and then felt like I hit a wall with it, so I reached out to Rog. He was absolutely over the moon as to how far I’d come, and genuinely so proud of me. I can’t explain how good that is to have someone in your corner like that on this health journey.

I suffer from PCOS as well which is soooo hard to lose weight on. Basically, all gp’s do is put you on contraception. Well, turns out Roger has studied a hell of a lot behind that and has put me on a great path.

My sleep pattern… haha what sleep pattern? I usually just slept when I was tired. We work 2 days, 2 nights (12-hour shifts) then 4 off.

Out of 8 days, I would literally ruin 4-5 of those with messed up sleep.

I couldn’t eat breakfast. I didn’t have a love for the gym.

I’d seen trainers and dieticians before but they all base everything around an average normie person mon-fri 9-5 roster. I thought I was pretty good at tailoring myself to move around those but, I wasn’t. Not in the slightest.

First meeting with Rog and the plan was to take what good habits i’d already created and polish those off to get me into a well oiled machine essentially. And didn’t we do just that!

Rog helped me put simple things in place like when I should sleep, when I should plan my meals, shopping and prep days, and things I should try at the gym but it was all to what I wanted to do and enjoyed.

Fast forward 3 months and wow what a difference.

I am physically and mentally stronger, and much much kinder to myself. I have a healthier relationship with food, and with myself. I can feel my body changing in good ways day by day. I am so much happier, more energy and I actually really enjoy going to the gym now. I never did weights or used machines, was always intimidated but now, I get cranky if I don’t get to go and lift my weights. I’ve got routine now which I felt I never had and I couldn’t see how much that was negatively effecting me. I had no idea what I needed which sounds so silly to me now. But Rog helped guide me through all of that. And there was no weighing in, pictures, or calorie counting. Very bespoke coaching to what you need, and it was exactly what I needed.

I will forever be thankful and will preach this to anyone who is willing to listen.

Roger has indeed taught me to thrive on my shift work, not just survive.

Thanks so much Rog!"
