As a veteran shift worker with nearly four decades of firsthand experience, combined with my expertise as a certified nutritionist and now specialising in chrononutrition and chronobiology, I am here to guide you on your journey towards optimal health and well-being.

As 24/7 shift workers, we do not have time for what diet culture brings into our lives.  

Instagram-worthy kitchen bench meal preps, tracking/weighing food.  It’s so much pressure, and who has time for that?

I have identified that gently educating shift workers in the art of Intuitive Eating is a solid solution that works.

Together, we will work loosely around the ten principles of an evidence-based framework designed to reconnect you with your hunger and satiety signals, what your body needs and dispel diet culture forever.

What is Intuitive Eating?

Intuitive Eating (IE) was developed by two dietitians, Evelyn Tribole and Elyse Resch, in 1995, who also penned the book Intuitive Eating, now in its 4th edition.

To be clear, I am not a Certified IE Coach. However, I have a good understanding of it and can guide you around the ten principles of IE:

  1. Reject the diet mentality

  2. Honour your hunger

  3. Make peace with food

  4. Challenge the food police

  5. Feel your fullness

  6. Discover the satisfaction factor

  7. Cope with your emotions with kindness

  8. Respect your body

  9. Movement - feel the difference

  10. Honour your health with gentle nutrition

I will listen to you.

You will not be judged or criticised.

Together, we will assess your home, social and work life. Then, weekly we will navigate our way through it all, using evidence-based strategies which will give you more energy to do what you need to do outside of your shift working life.

A coach in your pocket

You gain access to my personalised app as part of coaching. In the very least, this allows us to communicate as often as needed. The app allows me to gently prompt you, support you, encourage you, and guide you.

You’ll get daily habit reminders and your weekly check in is also done via the app.

Together we can navigate issues such as women’s health, body image concerns, disordered eating, stress and fatigue.

My coaching is also unique as I have weekly ZOOM coaching sessions with every client in weeks 1, 2, 3, 4 and then at 8 and 12. This is a time when we discuss the past week, work together on solutions to roadblocks and set goals for the coming week.

This provides ongoing weekly access to me as well as accountability.

As a performance athlete client, my app can integrate with many health and fitness apps that you might already be using. I can remotely view the data you are happy to share, like your sleep patterns, exercise and diet.

Most importantly, I’m not here to tell you to count calories or join a gym. If you want to do those things, then I’m here to support you. However, I know that shift work makes restrictive diets and rigid exercise regimes almost impossible to stick to.

Overall, our interactions provide clarity, hope, calm, and change your life for the better.

    Confused about a diet or what to eat and when?

    Unsure which supplements to take or if you even need to and/or how much?

    This is your opportunity to ask anything nutrition or shiftwork-related and seek evidence-based guidance around it.

    A question form will be sent prior to the booked session, and questions will be addressed during a video meeting.

    Once the question form is received, you will be guided on what amount of time will be required to properly advise on what you've asked.

    Unused time will be refunded or used up.

  • Yes, I write a personalised start-up program specific to you, tailored to achieve your “why”.

    Your own lifestyle goals and needs are incorporated into a program for you. Every week, We will identify issues you’ve faced and navigate around them. Client resources will be provided to you to get you thinking and address issues as they arise.

  • No.

  • I prefer to call it movement. I want you to just feel your body move in a way that you enjoy, supporting your physical and mental health.

  • 1:1 coaching with me will not feel like you are dieting at all, and that’s the idea.

    You are here because previous ‘diets’ have not worked, and I’m here to completely change your thoughts around your body, your relationship with food, and how you go about meal timing for shift work.

  • This is not an ‘8-week challenge’ where you lose weight, and then it’s “see ya”

    I take you on a journey through the ten principles of Intuitive Eating and work with you to change your life forever.

    It is entirely up to you how long you remain in a 1:1 coaching arrangement with me, but it is a minimum of 3 months to start with and then ongoing.

    I require 2 weeks notice if you decide to leave.

    Clients working with me are generally with me for more than six months.
